DIRECTIONS: Answer all parts below.  Make sure to answer each question adequately, and clearly identify each part and question with its corresponding heading or number.  Submit your assignment by the due date on CANVAS.

BRAIN STRUCTURES/FUNCTIONS

You can review some of the resources on the following websites:

·
https://www.brainfacts.org/3d-brain (Links to an external site.)

·
www.pbs.org/wnet/brain/3d/ (Links to an external site.)

·
https://qbi.uq.edu.au/brain-basics/brain-physiology (Links to an external site.)

· Also, review Chapter 2 (Biological Perspective) of your text and the Power-Point notes posted on CANVAS

After reviewing this information complete the following three parts (only 1, 2, & 3 needed to be submitted on CANVAS):

1. Pick THREE specific brain structures (i.e., amygdala, hippocampus, frontal lobes, etc.) that intrigued you- identify each of these structures- what neat information did you learn about each of them beyond what is presented in the text/notes?

2. Pick THREE specific neurotransmitters that interest you- identify what functions each of these serve.

3. Pick THREE of the brain scanning technologies (EEG, CAT, PET, MRI, fMRI, MEG) and describe each of them in a couple sentences.

4. The worksheet (see below- it is for your own practice- you do not need to submit it- I will post the answers on CANVAS for you to check).

WORKSHEET: Matching Brain Structures to Brain Descriptions/Functions
